We have come together because of a passion about justice. Not all are photographers. Not all are international wanderers. But we believe each person has an inherent worth and dignity deserving of revealing. And we have the audacious thought that we could make a difference.
We are also fellow learners…looking for others with whom to partner…experts with whom to come alongside and to serve and to help imagine.
We are in process…learning, making mistakes as we go, following the crumbs.
We are invitational. Join us!
Oh, and we are a 501(c)3 organization.

Founder/Executive Director
Beth’s journey into justice began when an undergrad class forced her to see another side of Chicago than her university. Stepping into the pain of the city’s children echoed back when years later she viewed “Born into Brothels” and envisioned a way to merge her photography with the world’s forgotten. An MA in International Care and Community Development birthed A Face to Reframe.
Beth lives in Colorado with her husband and three children and can be found with her camera or on her personal blog, always with a strong cup of coffee in hand.

He has an MA in International Care and Community Development and is looking to get involved in impacting US policy toward Africa, namely as it relates to the global agricultural system. His motto is, “Some give away fish. Others teach fishing. I seek to join those asking, ‘Who owns the lake?’”
Jeremy resides in Seattle with his wife and two children. He is currently serving on the Leadership Council at their church in south Seattle, Emerald City Bible Fellowship as well as adjunct faculty at Northwest University.

Board of Directors, Director of Development
Jan has spent her life working with at-risk children and their families within American public schools. She has a wealth of multi-cultural, team work, fundraising and community development experience.
After living in the Middle East for 7 years and developing a photography business herself, Founder and Director, Beth Bruno sensed the need to hear and see from those often depicted as merely subjects in images. She began to merge her two passions for social justice and photography through her Masters work in International Care and Community Development at Northwest University in Washington.
A Face to Reframe launched in 2009 with a pilot project, Muted Voices, with mentally disabled youth in southern Turkey. In an effort to both raise awareness and facilitate ongoing friendships between a Christian group and the local special needs population, we partnered together for a workshop. Each child was given a used digital camera and minimal instruction.
We asked the questions, “What is beautiful?” and “What is ugly?”, among others. Muted Voices is one step toward advocating for the worth and beauty of all Turkish citizens and became a published book and exhibit of the youth’s work.
In September 2009, we incorporated as a nonprofit in the State of Washington and in 2010 incorporated in Colorado. As of March, 2011, we are an official 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.
